Mid-Spring Break

Men

As we come close to ending our Spring Break down here in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, it has been interesting to see the start of the men's season. The first practice round down here was a struggle. High winds and a tree lined course led to some high rounds and some low attitudes, but as the week has come along, so have the men. They are continuing to work hard to prepare for this season, which has come up fast!

Barefoot resort has given us some great experiences by playing on some wonderful courses created by some of the best professional golfers and architects. The competition we had at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina was an eye opening experience for the men. Competition has snuck up on us with the quick passing of the semester, but we will be ready for our return to Iowa and the rest of the season. Tomorrow is a practice day for the men at the practice facility here at Barefoot Resort. It should be a very beneficial time for them.

Women

With the Spring Season being the women's off season, it is great to see my players working as hard as they do, even when we are on the practice facility here in South Carolina. Though the courses and conditions have been rough, all of them have had a great attitude while playing and are taking advantage of their first spring break as a team. Tomorrow will be a practice day for the ladies, as we have a tournament against Capital University on Saturday. Though it is a competition, the girls are in high spirits to be able to play with new women and on a new course, as always. With this being the first Spring Break trip for the women's team, I think they are enjoying themselves and are looking forward to future trips.
